Im an integrative therapist, which means I use a variety of techniques and approaches to best meet your needs. I trained in this way because I believe we are all unique and therefore no one fit approach will meet our needs. Therapy needs to be flexible and built around you.
I gained my Masters Degree in counselling at the University of Manchester having trained before that both in behavour therapy, and therapeutic play.
As well as having a private practice, I have worked with many organisations, including Action for Children, Manchster Social Services, CAMHS, Maundy relief, Chrysalis training, Kooth.com, progress care and eduction and most recently Blythe House Hospice and South Yorkshire Eating Disorders Association. I am currently setting up a childrens bereavement service for East Cheshire Hospice and lecture in Counselling at Macclesfield college as well as running workshops and doing training days.
I work with all ages from small children to adults and in many different ways. Utilising all my training and experience so together we can find the best form of therapy for you. I am currently training to be a yoga teacher and practice meditation and yoga daily and this has become part of my practice and work for those clients who wish it to be so. Im also a Reiki healer and upon request am happy to incorporate this into my work also.
Ive wrote articles for the BACP Therapy today and for the childrens and young peoples division, exploring my work online and with survivors of sexual abuse.
I feel very privaleged and grateful to be able to work within this field and get to do a job I love and that reaches so many people in many different ways and to continue to learn and grow from every client and group I see.
